Chicago White Sox
Todd Frazier #21
Chicago White Sox All-Star third baseman and 2015 Home Run Derby Champion Todd Frazier disappointed the fans at Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium with one swing of the bat. In the top of the 10th inning and the score tied 4-4, Frazier crushed the very first pitch he saw from Royals closer Kelvin Herrera into the left-center-field seats for a three-run home run. Frazier’s homer, 31st of the season, lifted the White Sox to a 7-4 lead heading into the bottom of the tenth. White Sox reliever Dan Jennings worked one-third of an inning to earn his first save of the season by striking out Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer on five pitches.
QUOTE: “That guy had 30 homers already. So something you leave in the middle probably is going to [get] hit hard,” said Herrera, acknowledging that he left a pitch over the middle to Frazier.
FACT: In 2015 with the Cincinnati Reds, Frazier led all National League players with 619 at-bats.
